Energy output of the Biorad Linker UV chamber:
The energy value given on the display for the machine in either energy or time mode is expressed in units of energy per cm 2 . Regardless of the size of the sample, the energy displayed is the energy/cm 2 that is being applied to the entire surface area of the inside of the unit (894 cm 2 ).
Thus you should calculate the amount of energy needed, assuming your sample is 894 cm 2 . In other words, pro-rate the amount of energy needed for your membrane up to the amount needed for 894 cm 2 .
